Time does not heal wounds, it only teaches us how to live with pain

Within our time together it will be a journey however long or short, but our joint goal I hope, is to takes steps towards betterment of yourself. Regrets, Traumas, Pains, Fears, all are issues that people develop and coming to therapy does not mean your problems are any less valuable then the next person. The bravest word in any language is help and together through whatever issues you are facing It would be my pleasure to work with you through these matters. Being a member of BIPOC and a male it can be scary, but I promise that I will work my hardest for you and work together in a friendly, non-judgemental environment. I hope that we build our rapport together and develop ourselves through out sessions together. Moments of laughter, sadness, anger, happiness may all be experienced, but I hope to develop myself more and more and become someone you can depend on in future sessions. I look forward to getting to know you and working together and I will leave you with two of my favourite quotes.

We do have a lot in common. The same earth, the same air, the same sky. Maybe if we started looking at what’s the same, instead of looking at what’s different, well, who knows?

You look in the mirror and your heart drops. You tell yourself forced words of kindness and drudge on with the day, wishing to feel confident, secure, likeable, and positive. You do your best to stick to the plan, and for the most part you do, but at the end of the day you find yourself caving into the behaviour you’re desperately trying to change. The cycle continues and your self-esteem, positive self- image, and self worth start to waver as the goal to reach the ‘new you’ seems further and further away. You want to be proud of yourself, your actions, your look, and your future. You know you can do it, but the repetitive disappointment can feel hopeless, and even traumatizing.

As someone who has lost over 100 pounds, I work with individuals in accepting themselves in how they are, their strengths, accomplishments, beauties, and uglies. You are the expert of your life, and your future, it would be a privilege to work with you along the way.

When we feel supported to share our stories truly remarkable things can happen. Therapy can provide the time and space to explore who you are, how your story began, and where you’d like it to go. It offers connection and perspective as you navigate your internal and external world. My practice emphasizes respect, warmth, and integrity at the heart of this collaborative process.

Together we’ll decide which approaches, tools, and techniques best honour your unique experiences and perspectives. My therapeutic style is authentic and engaged, and draws upon evidence-based practices for solid, integrative support. Using a client-centred approach, we’ll explore building resiliency, practicing awareness, and letting go of unhelpful patterns.

I know first hand how difficult it can be to manage the endless flow of tasks, requirements, and expectations life throws at us. Years of training to become the best I can be both on the ice and off the ice has made me understand the impact that mental health can have on athletes, as well as parents. I am a former semi-pro and NCAA hockey player, who spent years learning not only the game, but how different children and adults navigate a high demand life. After University, I went on to start my own business training sports to children and young adults with mental health issues such as ADHD, anxiety, and depression. During my time as a well-being coach and trainer, I worked with adults to overcome negative self-thoughts, anxieties, and phobias pertaining to everyday life. Along with my background as an athlete and trainer, I have worked alongside Team Canada members to co-facilitate mental wellbeing workshops around the country. A little about myself: I am a certified yogi, and love playing guitar, and have an empathetic and accepting free-spirited approach to life. I am continuing to learn more about myself as a Therapist and as a person, I am always looking to develop myself professionally.

Life doesn’t always go the way we intended it to go, and just like you, I have had my share of experiences that made it hard to see a better future. Psychotherapy can help you see that you do not have to struggle with your issues alone. Through my training and my own experiences, I understand that although we may all experience anxiety or depression we all have unique life experiences.

I understand the courage it takes to open up to someone, and I also understand the stigma around mental health struggles. So I want to remind you that I look upon you as a strong person for being here. When you become overwhelmed with negative feelings, I will remind you of the resilience you hold and the strengths you possess and have used throughout your life.

I hold a Hons. Degree in Psychology from the University of Windsor, and I am currently a student in the Masters of Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University. I have been married for twenty years and have two children. One is biological, and the other is adopted. I have been through many life experiences, many of which have challenged me. Through therapy, I have been able to overcome and eventually celebrate those times.

As a therapist, my approach is client-centered, meaning that you are the expert in your life. I will use various therapy techniques in therapy that work for you and your needs, with the main focus being empathy, respect and understanding. I would be privileged to work with you to reach your goals.

From a young age, I was able to sense the emotions of those around me and noticed that people felt comfortable opening up. When I reflect on why, it’s because I longed for a space to feel safe, seen, heard, nourished and understood. This led me to naturally create that space for others. Becoming a psychotherapist is something I always knew would be my future however recognizing the importance of my healing journey, I delayed this knowing that before I could help others, I had to improve the relationship I had with myself. I am a strong advocate for leading by example, and my unwavering belief in the profound impact of personal therapy has consistently shaped my path. The years I’ve spent in personal therapy as well as my commitment to holistic wellness have honed my self-awareness and emotional resilience. These skills allow me to guide clients on a similar course.

Although I may be new to the field of psychology, I’ve worked as a manager and coach for a decade in the technology sector where I’ve assisted individuals in setting and achieving goals, fostering self-awareness, and holistic development which forms a robust foundation. I’m guided by a genuine commitment to helping others and I bring a unique blend of personal and professional insights to psychotherapy. Whether you’re seeking to get unstuck, set meaningful goals, trust yourself, or navigate life’s challenges, I am here to accompany you on your journey toward positive transformation.

While we can’t alter the past and sometimes our current situation is beyond our control, we do possess the power to shift our perspective, reactions, and the way we relate to ourselves. My focus with clients is on nurturing positive self-relationships, which include fostering self-love, acceptance, and self-trust. It may be challenging, but the rewards are significant.

Hey! I’m Taylor.

When was the last time that you felt safe, heard, and connected to yourself and your desires? For many of us, pinpointing that last moment where we felt true connection can feel impossible. Past experiences, struggles with self-image, or the ongoing demands of life can all contribute to feeling disconnected from our inner sense of security, leaving us unsure about our next steps. Maybe you’re grappling with emotions that no longer serve you in the present moment. I’m here to offer you a sanctuary—a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you can pause, release the weight on your shoulders, and safely reconnect with your inner world.

As a recent immigrant to Canada, I have witnessed first-hand the importance of having connection in community. As I have navigated the process of finding community myself, my journey is driven by a deep desire to guide clients into reconnecting with themselves, their passions, and their communities in a holistic way. At the same time, I recognize the impact generational patterns and systemic pressures can have on our ability to prioritize our full well-being in a consistent manner. I aim to validate these struggles with you, while supporting you in creating space for healing, growth, and meaningful connection with yourself and those around you.

Together, we will work towards reclaiming your sense of empowerment, cultivating resilience, and fostering a deeper understanding of yourself and your place in the world. My role is to walk alongside you, offering guidance, support, and unwavering encouragement as you navigate life’s challenges and rediscover your inner strength.

I am endlessly thankful that you’ve taken the time to consider me as a companion for your journey. I hope to hear from you soon!

Hello, I’m Julia (she/her).

You have done all that you possibly can to “get better,” and resume your normal life, but it seems that nothing will budge. You’re stuck trying to work through old habits and patterns that just don’t seem to go away. I’ve been in your shoes, and I understand the difficulty of acknowledging that you have done your best, but may benefit from the support of a professional. It is daunting, nerve-wracking, and sometimes, shameful, and requires bravery and strength to move past the fear of opening up to others. If you have done all of the personal healing and feel like there is no end in sight, I’m here to help.

As a former therapy client, stemming from my struggles with anxiety and depression, I understand and acknowledge the difficulty of seeking help, and from that, I strive to provide empathetic, compassionate, and respectful therapeutic support for individuals of all diversifications.

Due to the wonderful therapeutic support that I have received in my life, my goal is to provide the same level of support and care to my own clients. I embrace techniques from a multitude of theoretical orientations, including Acceptance & Commitment (ACT) and Person-Centred Therapy (PCT), to provide an integrative approach to healing and wellness.

With a positive outlook, a commitment to try, (and a bit of humour!), I am confident that together we will be able to help you get back to “you”!

NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS

Hey, I’m Courtney (she/her)

Do you ever feel overwhelmed by your thoughts and emotions, as if they are steering your life in directions you don’t want to go? Or maybe you’re struggling with the complexities of parenthood, from the joys to the unexpected challenges it brings. If these experiences resonate with you, I’m here to journey with you toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.

My path to becoming a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) was shaped by my decade-long experience as an elementary school teacher. I understand the exhaustion that comes from constantly juggling different roles in both personal and professional life. I’ve been there, wearing multiple hats, and feeling stretched thin.

I also bring personal insights into the unique challenges of pregnancy loss and the difficulties of perinatal/postpartum mood disorders. The transition to parenthood is a profound one, often mixed with feelings of joy, uncertainty, fear, and anxiety. Navigating these complex emotions is not a journey you have to travel alone.

In counselling, my approach is rooted in Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). It’s about learning to ‘unhook’ from those overwhelming thoughts and feelings that derail you and learning skills to be able to lead the life you want to live. Together, we can work on aligning your actions with your values, paving the way for a life that’s rich and meaningful to you.

Whether you’re navigating the rollercoaster of parenthood, struggling with life’s demands, or looking for a way to find peace amidst chaos, I’m here to support you. Your journey towards healing and growth is unique, and I’m committed to understanding and honouring your story. Let’s work together to turn your challenges into stepping stones for a more fulfilling life.

I’ve been practicing for about 11 years. Ever since I can remember, people have told me, you have a knack for listening and you’re easy to talk to. I remember in high school, there was a year where we experienced many losses. I found myself wanting to sit with people and bear witness to their stories and experiences.

I have worked with all forms of trauma in my career. Over time, traditional talk therapy wasn’t serving my clients as well as I had hoped for them. I started to look at the brain and body in its connection to how trauma is lived out. I look at attachment and systems to really get to the heart of the struggle. I love seeing clients light up with the “aha” moment or allowing their bodies to release the shame and pain they’ve held onto for so long.

This is about whole life therapy. An integration of self, relationship, and community, so that we can shift the language from “What’s wrong with me” to understanding, “What’s happened to me?”

If you are ready, let me walk with you. Let’s journey together.
